Certificates of Conformity

The Clean Air regulation in Japan requires that all vehicles and engines must covered by a certificate of conformity before they can enter into use. A certificate of conformity demonstrates that the respective engine or vehicle conforms to all of the applicable emission requirements by the Ministry of Labor, Industry and Transport (MLIT) as well as Ministry of Environment MOE) Government of Japan. The certificate represents engines and vehicles covered by a specific engine caterory or, in the case of light-duty vehicles, a specific test group for each manufacturer.

The Emission Certificate in important for all new vehicles and used automobiles as well.
