SUMMARY OF TOKYO STOCK EXCHANGE The Tokyo Stock Exchange also called "TSE" for short, is located in Tokyo, the capital city of Japan. Tokyo Stock Exchange is world's second largest stock exchange in term of aggregate market capitalization of listed companies. The Tokyo Stock Exchange had 2,300 listed companies with a combined market capitalization value of 4 trillion United States Dollars as end of year 2010.

The headquarter of Tokyo Stock Exchange is located at 2-1 Nihonbashi kabutocho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 103-8224 Japan. This area of Tokyo is the largest financial district of Japan with countless Multi-Nations companies and financial institutes. TSE operating hours are from 9:00 to 11:00 am, and from 12:30 to 3:00 pm. Stocks listed on the TSE are separated into three sections: * First Section is for large companies. * Second Section for middle sized companies. * Third section which is also called "Mothers" (Market of the high-growth and emerging stocks). This section if for highly growth but smaller companies. There are 1,695 First Section companies, 447 Second Section companies and 182 Mothers companies.

The main indices tracking the Tokyo Stock Exchange are the Nikkei 225 index of companies selected by the "Nihon Keizai Shimbun" which is Japan's largest newspaper in term of business and trading news & information. The TOPIX index based on the share prices of First Section companies, and the J30 index of large industrial companies maintained by Japan's other major newspapers. About less than 100 domestic Japanese companies and 10 non-Japanese securities companies also participate in Tokyo Stock Exchange trading daily.

Most Japanese car companies like Toyota Japan, Nissan, and Honda are also listed in the first section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
