ALPHA Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan has launched compact Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) called "PRIUS ALPHA". It is the first vehicle in the Prius line-up to use lithium-ion batteries. Toyota is expecting better sale of this modern hybrid among all Japanese new car manufacturers. The Toyota Prius Alpha is with an extra row of seats in the back-side, turning the car into a mini people-mover which carry maximum 7 people. As everybody knows, the Prius has been a tremendous and very successful car of Toyota Japan. Now larger families will finally be able to use the Prius as their dream come true. Toyota’s long-rumored Prius sub-brand is now a reality. It is based on the current Prius’ architecture. The Alpha will also share the Prius’ 1.8L engine, mated to an electric motor, with few differences. 2011 Toyota Prius Alpha is heavier, but much better than most of the Vans on the Road. | |
