A Certified Used Car (CUC) or Certified Used Vehicle (CUV) is a used vehicle, usually priced a little higher than similar non-certified cars, that has undergone an inspection of certain key components by JIO inspectors and is still under manufacturer's warranty. In some countries the term is used as Certified Pre-Owned vehicle or "CPO". The used vehicle manufacturers and the inspection agency sets the criteria to decides which used vehicles qualify to CUC after performs the inspection and gives a vehicle its "Certified Used Car" status. However, the minimum criteria is vehicle's age must be less than 5 years old and mileage not exceed 50,000 kilometers. The certified used cars are generally among the best-condition used cars sometimes nearly new cars, because it perform the strict inspection work necessary to certify them. In other words, a certified used car has been examined by a a team of JIO to determine its condition to meet a certain set of standards. All certified used cars undergo a similar inspection process by JIO inspectors regardless of brand. However a used car applied for "certified used cars status" may or may not qualify based on its mileage, condition or a combination of other factors. |
